What is the fabric that is at the waistband and armbands of a sweater, and where can i buy it?
I have looked at fabric sites but i’m not quite sure what i’m looking for. I think it is rib knit or something?
It’s called “ribbing”, and if you’re talking about a knitted sweater, it’s made as part of the entire piece, not sewn on. Ribbing that is sewn on is used when the sweater is cut and sewn from pieces of fabric, like a sweatshirt.
It’s hard to find ribbing to exactly match another fabric, but the places to look are fabric stores. If you only need ribbing for the sleeves, sock tops can be used.
