How do I redistribute my stitches when knitting 1 sock on 2 circular needles?
I am ready for the toe decrease on my top down sock. My stitches are distributed now from instep to mid-heel on each needle but my pattern says to have instep stitches on one circ and sole stitches on the other before starting the toe. How do I redistribute them? My working yarn is on the needle in the middle of the heel section at t he present time. Do I just slip them purlwise onto the proper needle and start knitting wherever the working yarn is at that time? I am a novice knitter and this is my first sock and I’ve never used dpns and most sock patterns don’t refer to circular needles at all so I am confused as to how to proceed with my toe decreases.
yes you would just slip them purlwise onto the proper needle and just start knitting.
take a look at this video, it will tell you how to work on dpns.

as for the decreases, you start at the beginning of the round and just follow your pattern.
