Learn How To Knit For Beginners

learn how to knit for beginners
What is a good beginners knitting pattern for a Warm beanie.?

I recently learned how to knit a basic beanie. I learned knit and pear, but am also learning others. my only issue is that I live in Alaska and the beanie I made was not nearly warm enough. So my question would be is there a pattern for a warm beanie or is it the yard that makes it warm. Which I would guess it is, so what kinda of yard would be best if I’m looking to make nice warm stuff?
Thank you.
As so Hairbender’s comments, yes my spelling was indeed horrible. Still at least I’m not rude. I consider the context in which that person might have been in. Such as a college student who was up late exhausted from work, homework, and exams. So if my eyes were halfway closed and my mind was saying sleep when I decided to make a last minute effort to ask a question then I’m not surprised to see how bad my question looked.

Yes, the yarn used is a big factor. Use a bulky weight yarn and needles a size smaller than typically used for that yarn. Thick yarn plus small stitches means little opportunity for wind to pass through. You can also double the hat to make it double thick. To do that, look up the provisional cast-on (such as the crochet provisional cast on) and start the hat with that, working to the top of the hat and decreasing normally at the top. Then turn the project upside down and pick up the stitches from the provisional cast on and work the hat again going in the other direction. What you wind up with is sort of shaped like a football or potato. Turn one end inside out and into the other end and you have a reversible, double thick hat.

I know it sounds like “pearl” but it’s actually spelled “purl.” In case you want to look up more about different ways to purl.

There are only two stitches in knitting (the knit and the purl). Everything else is made out of those two stitches, either by using them in combination, or by manipulating them in some way (such as for a cable or bobble).
