Knitting: when should I felt my pieces?
Hey,
I’m knitting myself a tote bag, no pattern- I’m creating one myself. When should I felt the sides, before or after connecting them? If I felt them after joining the seams, I’d be able to use my tapestry needle/yarn to join them, but if I felt them before, wouldn’t I have to sew with a normal needle and thread? I’m proficient with both types of joining, but I’d like another opinion…

The only concerns I have are with the seams…if I felt them separately, I *might* be able to block them to be the same size, but I don’t know how accurate that’d be…I think I’d be better felting after joining- thanks!
I’d felt after the pieces were joined. The finished item will look much better that way, as the pieces will fit each other. If you felt first, it will be more difficult to get the edges where you join pieces the exact same size.
