how do you work a knitting machine?
I have a Singer model 700 and i cant set up the thread! when i start the carriage knits the first time but then when i come back it undoes what it already knitted! any help? thank you!
Have you changed the needle retainer bar lately? The FIRST thing to do is make sure the needle retainer bar (sponge bar) is in good condition. Press down on the needles and see if they return immediately to position.
You didn’t say which cast-on method you are using or if you are following the instruction manual. You also didn’t say if you have already put weights on the cast-on row. Without knowing, any suggestion would be a total guess. I can suggest that you change the needle retainer bar if it needs it and wipe down the machine with a lint-free cloth sprayed with Lori-Lyn lubricating oil, and also suggest you look under the carriage for lint or stray threads, then wipe it down with Lori-Lyn.
