Baby clothes – Is crocheting or knitting better?
I’m thinking of either learning crocheting or knitting. The main things that I would like to make are baby sweaters, baby hats, baby socks, blankets, sweaters for kids, and dog sweaters.
Would it be better to crochet or knit these items? What are the differences? Which is easier? Which looks better?

Neither is easier or harder than the other, and both look nice depending on the application. Knitting tends to be smoother and crochet more highly textured (though there are exceptions). The main difference in the finished garment is that knitting tends to be stretchy and crochet tends not to be. Crochet fabric tends to be thicker and uses more yarn. Crochet also tends to be faster.
For the dog sweaters I would definitely choose knitting. For baby blankets I would prefer crochet, but I have also knit baby blankets. In general socks should be knit. It is possible to crochet socks, but IMO they do not feel good to wear because they do not stretch with the foot’s movements and because the they are more highly textured and may “waffle” the skin against them. Sweaters can be done with either technique, but my own preference for sweaters is knitting because of the way they give as I move.
Now, on the kids side of things, I will say that crochet will tolerate rough handling better. It doesn’t snag or get runs like knitting will, and it doesn’t rapidly unravel when you get a hole in it.
Over all, for the list of items you want to make, all can be knitted or crocheted, but some of the items will definitely be better if knitted. If you were into doilies, afghans, or table cloths, I’d be advising you the other direction.
