i am knitting a jacket with size 10 1/2 needles instead of size 8.?
will the jacket be just larger or out of shape. unravelling is not an option because of the type yarn.
The whole thing will be larger for the following reason. If you increase the needle size, the loops/stitches will be larger/looser (making the knitted item larger). If you decrease the needle size, the loops/stitches will be smaller/tighter.
Some times I like knitting with larger needles than suggested b/c I like it when it’s done, with the loose/large(r) stitches or how cozy it makes me feel (if it’s a sweater hat, mitten, etc).
