need pattern for knitted headband with a button closure?
the band has some decorations ie flowers.
Easiest suggestion is a ribbing / stockinette stitch – k one row, p the next
To begin cast on the number of stitches you need,
That will depend on the thickness of you yarn and the size of your needles –
I would do 2 inches for a medium band.
You just work back and forth until you have the length you want- you can use your own head as a guide, because the band will stretch a bit due to the ribbing pattern.
When you get to the end where you want the button hole, you can cast off the number of sts you need and then cast on to finish the button hole OR just finish the band and SEW to define the button hole. I do one shape and then go around it again just outside the first. THen use a sharp pair of scissors – nail scissors work well. – to open the hole.
Sew the button onto the other end.
For the flowers, you can use an embroidery stitch called Lazy Daisy – it is a chain st with a large open ing sewn around a center that can be a French knot. Another alternative is to crochet the flowers and sew them on.
