How to recieve donations for a charitable project?
Hello everyone, I have this kind of independent project I’m working on along with members of the community I live in. The goal of our year-long charity project is to create, gather and distribute handmade crochet/knit/sewed winter-wear and other articles for the low income families in the area. We are not affiliated with any organization, nor are we official. Its kind of a personal side project.
Would we be able to receive donations freely? or would we have to go through some long tedious process involving tax forms etc. We need donations of materials mostly, hooks, needles, yarn…
Is there a specific process we need to go through

Awesome! I love it! If you’re just collecting materials – keep it up! Taking cash donations is another story. Check out 501c3 guidelines with your state.
