What’s a good free knitting site for beginners?

I’m looking for a site with a bunch of good how-to-knit style projects. I found one site, aokcorral.com, which was set up that had project 1, a scarf, project 2, a hat, project 3, slippers, and it got more and more difficult. I’m looking for another site with this same setup. It had very good step by step directions, and lots of pictures. I’d continue looking at this site except it ends after the slippers, and I’m looking for as many projects as I can find. Free knitting patterns would be appreciated also!
