Is it possible to substitute embroidery thread for sewing thread?
I need to resew some buttons on a coat, but I find that the regular sewing thread is cheap looking and doesn’t look like it will hold well. And yes I’ve been sewing for years, but have never tried this. It’s 100% cotton – so?
wooleyboo – I just don’t want the buttons to fall off after I sew them – I don’t expect anyone or care if anyone doesn’t like what I do.
yes you can use embroidery thread in place of sewing thread. it’s more durable anyway, just make sure you use 3 strands of the 6 strands at a time, instead of one
