I have tried local stores but these are few and far between here…
But have had no luck as yet…
Hi
If it is the actual pattern that you want to copy, you could try getting a ‘Classic’ book for childrens knitting and then applying the pattern to it. Most of the classic patterns are plain knitted garments with each pattern using a different thickness of yarn. The patterns will give an option to have different necklines or sleeve types and will cover a large range of sizes
Another alternative is to use the original pattern but alter it, for example:
If the current pattern moves up by age group, for example ages 2, 4, 6 and your child is 8 years old, then see what the difference is in the number of stitches between each size – most will go up by a very similar amount according to a tension square and how many stitches to an inch/centimeter. You would then only have to adjust the length to fit.
regards
Pam
