I can knit but what do these mean!?
“in K1P1 ribbing”
“Stockinette stitch”
“Cast off 10 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of every alternate row for 16 rows until 59 sts remain. Continue until armhole measures 8.9” or 23.6 cm (58 rows), with 59 sts remaining.”
What does all this mean..
Sorry if this is the stupidest question you’ve ever heard ..
K1P1 means to knit 1 stitch and then purl 1 stitch the length of the row. For ribbing then the next row would be purl 1, knit 1 to get the ribbing like a cuff on a sweater.
Stockinette stitch is knit one row purl one row. It makes the smooth knit on the right side.
Cast off knitting you knit then bring the loop over. Dec 1 stitch would be to do the same thing or knit two together.
Sounds like a sweater sleeve.
