Knit pattern for “VISOR BEANIE”, aka “NEWSBOY CAP”?
I’m trying to find a pattern for (what I call) a beanie w/ visor. I found this pattern,

but the needles are all mixed up, and a lot of the comments are saying how the pattern is incorrect.
Anyways, that’s the shape of how I’d like mine to look, but I’m not having much luck with finding a new pattern.

There is nothing wrong with the pattern at all, it is just a problem with Americans trying to understand English patterns. The terminology is different and at first can be a bit hard to understand.
I’m Australian and until the internet, we only had access to Australian and maybe English patterns so I find the pattern very easy to read and if I try to knit from an American pattern I am continuously on the internet trying to find your explanations.
A lot of the queries are explained, but maybe the following helps:
1. When it says ‘continue pattern’ it just means either continue following the original pattern over the next number of rows given (most patterns are repeated every certain number of rows) or continue knitting the knit stitches and purling the purls .
2. When it says ‘rib’ it means just continue in the rib pattern for the number of stitches (it doesn’t believe it has to tell you to k1, p1 all the time).
3. When it says y.o.n. = Yarn Over Needle means that if your last stitch was a knit, your yarn is already at the back and you bring the yarn over the top of the needle, usually to do a purl stitch and this is an increase and has added a stitch. If your last stitch was a purl, again your yarn would go over the needle, straight into a knit stitch and would also be an increase.
4. y.fwd = Yarn Forward. You bring the yarn forward between the needles to the front of your work. Your last stitch was a knit stitch, bringing the yarn forward and then knitting the next stitch will give the same increase result as above.
I did see a comment regarding the needles, but it is just that at the very top of the pattern it shows the US equivalent, but then goes on to use the English sizes in the pattern.
